Moments Gone & More to Come

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
~Terry Pratchett

As I sit here typing this post, I am having & enjoying a quiet moment.
Yes, you heard right.
It is quiet in my house.

I was looking back at my old blog Party of 5 in Calgary, and I saw so many things that have for some reason become a thing of the past.
What happened to our celebrations?
We ALWAYS found a reason to celebrate, enjoy new foods, share tea and snacks.

We used to laugh together, and argue too.
Suddenly, our lives became fuzzy, hazy, messy in a way.
I didn't see that coming...although, in all honestly I should have.
The Man didn't see it coming either.
I think the younger kids just roll with the punches, as things change.
But the older girls?
I think they are probably a bit nostalgic about it all too.

But as I write this I am determined.
I will not dwell on the past.
I have a thousand thoughts dancing around in may head.
They promise safety, and peace - I need all of that to go into the hospital and come out in one piece.
There's a lot of repetition in my posts lately.
I apologize for that.
But this is my journey...a way of remembering what the days were like.

We also have so many celebrations coming up.
I love celebrating.
I am literally so excited to be making these plans.
The Boy is back at school...we must celebrate, he says.
Moonface wants a My Little Pony cake
And I cannot believe that my oldest is going to be - well old :)
It is amazing, truly amazing how time flies.

I want to slow down and remember how much a busy, crazy, well-lived life is centered around family.
So here I am remembering and relishing the moments when & making new plans…lots of them.
